{"id":2762,"date":"2018-12-29T00:51:43","date_gmt":"2018-12-29T00:51:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.electrochestral.com\/?page_id=2762"},"modified":"2026-05-22T14:46:35","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T14:46:35","slug":"the-war-bride","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/electrochestral.com\/?page_id=2762","title":{"rendered":"IMMERSIVE &#038; SILENT OPERAS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>IMMERSIVE &amp; SILENT OPERAS<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nWhat are they? \u00a0Operas that move through and activate spaces through sound, movement and acoustics. \u00a0Silent operas (think silent disco but with live music) feature the use of a transmitter and wireless headphones so that the audience can follow performers as they roam from the stationary chamber ensemble. \u00a0My first silent opera was the, <em>The War Bride<\/em>, which followed a WWII bride from Britain as she faces new challenges as an immigrant in the USA in the 1940&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">My museum immersive opera is an innovative music presentation that breaks down the wall between performer and audience to showcase the format of opera in an untraditional way for the visitor while using the museum artwork and gallery spaces to explore space and sound. The audience is encouraged to follow the narrative of the piece which entails following the soloists as they move to and sing in multiple gallery spaces within the museum but they are ultimately given agency to explore based on feeling, sight and soundscape. <\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration:
