*WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 24 2021 – SA REPORT ARTICLE
Thanks to Nicholas Frank for the thoughtful review and insight into my new album, Texas Skies. I chuckled when I read the first quote from my mom! She had adult things to consider but I had nowhere to be so I could let my mind drift as a 6 year old in the back of our Suburban and soak in the surrounding landscapes. It’s a great read when you have the time.

*TUESDAY NOVEMBER 19th 2021 – TEXAS SKIES OUT NOW!
My newest recording is out today Friday November 19th on all streaming platforms. It’s music written for two pianos called Texas Skies. The music was inspired by a lifetime of driving through Texas and the various skies and landscapes I witnessed. Additionally, I’m excited about this record as it was my first opportunity to work with pianist, Timo Andres who recorded both piano parts during the height of the pandemic. Danny Reisch mixed the recordings and Michael Carnes did the album artwork. Listen on Spotify HERE or Purchase on Band Camp HERE

*MONDAY MARCH 15TH – NEW CHAMBER OPERA
I am thrilled to announce work on a new chamber opera I will be premiering on Texas Public Radio’s Daystream series this April. It’s the first new work I’ll direct in over a year since the pandemic hit. While I’ve kept myself busy recording my new piano album, scoring a feature film and shooting new experimental films, I have sorely missed creating and producing my live concerts. To be honest I miss rehearsals the most because I miss the camaraderie and the collective process of collaboratively creating a new production. My new chamber opera is a 25 minute, 3-act, chamber opera titled, Ribas-Dominicci, and has been written to premiere on Texas Public Radio in San Antonio on April 30th 2021. It’s a story about love and sacrifice in memory of Fernando Luis Ribas-Dominicci, a Major and pilot in the United States Airforce who participated in the air raid as a member of the 48th Tactical Fighter Wing and was shot down in action over the disputed Gulf of Sidra off the Libyan coast on April 15th 1986. The family of Ribas-Dominicci, now resides in San Antonio and whose son, Fernando Ribas-Berrain, is one of my closest friends since we were teenagers. Together with my friend Fernando and his mom Blanca, I’ll be adapting a full length opera that I hope to premiere in 2022.
